Asphalt Shingle Roof Repair

To extend the lifespan of your roof, it's recommended to have it inspected and maintained after winter to ensure it's still in excellent condition. A shingle that has come loose is covered by the 10-year warranty we offer. An asphalt shingle roof can have a lifespan of up to 30 years.

Here are the elements our roofing repair specialists can inspect:

Flashing Caulking: The caulking around the flashings that protect rooftop equipment (ventilator, chimney, skylight, etc.) is often damaged after a harsh winter season. Replacing it takes only a few minutes and helps prevent water infiltration that could eventually rot the plywood. At the same time, our roofers will check that the flashings are not damaged and are properly installed.

Shingles to Replace: If shingles have been torn off by the wind, or if they are curled or cracked, our roofing inspectors can replace them (this is covered under your warranty). Shingles of the same model (or a similar one) will be used.

Waterproofing Membrane: When replacing shingles, our roofers will check if the waterproofing membrane underneath is torn or damp. If it is, a few shingles will be removed to assess the condition of the plywood below. We will then replace that section of the membrane.

Ventilation : If your roof ventilator is malfunctioning, poor ventilation could cause mold, which in turn can damage the structural beams. Condensation stains may also appear on your ceilings in winter. If your insulation is blocking the soffit vents, we may suggest adding Styrovents to prevent the insulation from shifting.
